EXCURSION TO ATALANTI OLIVE TREES LANDFILLS AND VISIT DELPHI ARCHEAOLOGICAL SITE

Departure from Athens at 08.30 ( pick up point at the entrance of the Congress Venue) leading to the olive groves of Atalanti and Livanates region located in the Fthiotis county 140 Km from Athens.

You will be able to become aware of the acute problem of verticillium wilt of olives in two of the best olive varieties of Greece. Efforts for biological control and application of solarisation will be discussed on the site. You will understand why under the growing conditions the problem is not easily managed.

After our visit at the landfills we continue to Delphi to one of the most important Archeological places of Greece and perhaps of all over the world, where the most famous oracle of the ancient Greek world operated. Then we stop for lunch at a traditional Greek tavern at the Delhi village. Return to Athens around 19.30.
